Hi there,

Some off-the-shelf tools that are handy are indicated below.
The first is for guessing languages, and the second is for
parsing (constituent structure and dependency structure,
though we'll focus on constituency).

odur.let.rug.nl/~vannoord/TextCat/

nlp.stanford.edu/software/lex-parser.shtml

You'll find support for unix/linux and MS; however, you'll
not find me particularly competent with MS.

We'll manage....

More to follow,
Carl

Hi there,

Looking forward to seeing you, not long from now.

Some stuff for the lab session is here:
www.scss.tcd.ie/Carl.Vogel/Bergamo-January2013/

The zip file is big and has many many constituent files.

Some new and some old programs are included.

There is a README with some further details.

The pdf is meant to lead to the suggestion that if we don't get everything done in two hours, or according to plan, then maybe some specific collaborations can emerge out of this afterwards.

All my best,
Carl
